24 hrs. to go before we leave-Where's Jack Bauer?

We're on the count down to departure! The only items we have packed so far are our clothes. I should know better to not bring a lot, but yet I continue to add to the clothes I've packed. One bag holds my tops; one holds my pants, one holds my shoes, electrical appliances, magazines, books, etc. and yet another one holds my toiletries. Oh, I forgot to mention the bag that holds my bike equipment! You'd think we were going to be gone for a year or so instead of 20 days. I'm out of control! If I get the energy, I'll go through my bags again and take out half--at least enough to be able to zip the bags up would be a good idea. Kevin has managed to pack all his clothes into one bag. I really envy him!!!!



Everything is pretty much in order for departure. We're leaving our house, dogs, and fish in good hands with Jennifer, Chris, and Rose. It's interesting how easy it seems to think about going on vacation, but when it comes down to it, it takes a lot of effort and planning to make it all happen. Thankfully we have good people helping us out in order to make our trip possible. Kevin's been busy mapping out the trip and our first night we plan to drive to Burney Falls, CA.


My family spent a couple weeks there long ago, when I was a child. What fun we all had back then!!!! I started the trip with the stomach flu, and passed it on to most of my family. As I recall, it rained a lot and I came down with the German Measles. Mainly I remember how beautiful it was there. There were creeks, waterfalls, and lots of wooded trails to hike on. I'm looking forward to seeing it with Kevin.


Just kidding! I thought we were going there, but when I read the blog to Kevin, he reminded me that we are heading for a lake near Mount Shasta. So much for our outstanding communication skills! I hope it lives up to my wonderful childhood memories of Burney Falls. :)
